Da Nang Expands Innovation Cooperation with Singapore Partners
On the morning of August 14, 2026, the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center (DISSC), in coordination with Bridgent, organized the workshop “Sustainable Agriculture and Innovation in the Circular Economy,” with the participation of a delegation from Republic Polytechnic, as well as investors and businesses from Singapore. The program was held as part of the Bridgent Immersion Series (BIS) – a platform connecting Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem with international markets, aiming to strengthen exchanges, networking, and opportunities for cooperation in science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship between Da Nang and Singapore.

In his welcome remarks, Mr. Le Son Phong - Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, emphasized that science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship are important drivers of the city’s socio-economic development. In recent years, Da Nang has gradually developed its innovation and startup ecosystem with the participation of state management agencies, universities, research institutes, businesses, support organizations, investors, and the startup community. The city has also placed particular emphasis on expanding international connections to help innovative businesses and projects gain access to markets, technologies, capital, and global partner networks.
According to Mr. Phong, Singapore is a partner with many strengths and extensive experience in areas where Da Nang seeks to enhance cooperation, particularly education and training, investment, technology, digital transformation, green technology, and sustainable development. He also expressed his expectation that this visit by the Singaporean delegation would lay the foundation for concrete cooperation activities among universities, businesses, investors, and innovation organizations from both sides in the coming time.
As part of the program, representatives of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center introduced an overview of Da Nang’s innovation and startup ecosystem and the policies supporting startups. Participants also heard presentations on the low-carbon agriculture model, MRV technology, and carbon credits introduced by the SATY project; as well as the circular economy solutions and waste-to-resource conversion technologies of the Circular BioEnergy (CirBE) project. These areas are considered to hold significant potential for cooperation between organizations and businesses in Da Nang and Singapore, particularly as green transition and sustainable development are becoming global trends.
Speaking at the program, a representative of Bridgent said that the session provided a comprehensive perspective on Da Nang’s startup and innovation ecosystem while introducing several notable models in low-emission agriculture, MRV technology, carbon credits, and the circular economy. In the coming time, Bridgent will continue to serve as a bridge, promoting cooperation between international partners and businesses and research organizations in Vietnam.
The program took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, featuring extensive discussions on trends in high-tech agriculture, the circular economy, innovation, and investment in startups. The participants expressed their desire to maintain connections and promote cooperation in research, technology application, and commercialization, while further strengthening linkages among universities, businesses, and investors from the two countries.
