Da Nang Provides Technology Innovation Funding Support to Two Businesses

Da Nang City has provided technology innovation funding support to Mien Trung Industrial Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and EM AND AI Joint Stock Company, with a total funding amount of VND 893 million, as part of the Opening Ceremony of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Festival – SURF 2026.

In recent years, Da Nang has been implementing technology innovation support policies to enhance businesses’ technological capabilities and competitiveness while promoting innovation activities across the city.

Many supported products and projects have helped businesses develop new products, expand production, and increase revenue, thereby fostering a broader culture of innovation, improving productivity and the quality of products and services, and contributing to the city’s overall socio-economic development.

Mien Trung Industrial Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

Mien Trung Industrial Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., located on Street No. 9, Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu Ward, Da Nang City, has received funding support for the project “Investment in VMC1000II CNC Milling Machine Technology and Equipment.”

The project focuses on mold manufacturing, precision machining, and industrial parts production, in line with Da Nang’s development orientation for supporting industries.

The project received VND 193 million in funding support to cover the cost of purchasing equipment for technological innovation.

According to the project, the modern VMC1000II CNC vertical milling machine will help standardize precision machining processes and support the production of complex molds and industrial components. Upgrading machinery and equipment is expected to increase productivity, significantly reduce defective products and energy consumption, and further strengthen the supporting industry supply chain in Da Nang.

EM AND AI Joint Stock Company

EM AND AI Joint Stock Company, located on the 4th Floor, SPT Building, 179 Tran Hung Dao Street, An Hai Ward, Da Nang City, has received funding support for the project “Research and Development of Vietnamese Speech-to-Text Technology for Call Center Environments.”

The project received VND 700 million in funding support, covering the costs of technology research and decryption activities to support technological innovation at EM AND AI Joint Stock Company.

The project focuses on artificial intelligence (AI), a high-tech field prioritized for development. The company has developed proprietary Vietnamese speech-to-text technology capable of handling highly noisy data and diverse regional accents. The technology is integrated into virtual call center systems and used to assess call quality.

The solution helps automate business processes and reduce investment costs by replacing imported technologies, lowering personnel expenses, reducing processing time, and improving management efficiency and service quality. It also has strong potential for application in public administrative services, helping address and respond to citizens’ inquiries more effectively.

Strengthening Resources for Technology-Innovating Businesses

The provision of technology innovation funding at SURF 2026 reaffirms Da Nang’s commitment to supporting businesses by providing additional financial resources to facilitate technological innovation, improve productivity and product quality, and enhance competitiveness.

Da Nang’s technology innovation support policy focuses on providing financial assistance to strengthen technological capabilities, accelerate digital transformation, and promote research and innovation among businesses. The support is implemented under Resolution No. 33/2026/NQ-HDND dated May 29, 2026, promulgating policies on technology innovation support in Da Nang City.

Eligible beneficiaries include manufacturing, service, and trading enterprises (excluding foreign-invested enterprises), as well as organizations and cooperatives operating in Da Nang that undertake technology innovation activities.

Supported activities related to research, development, and technology transfer include:

- Support for the purchase of technological equipment for technology innovation: Up to 50% of the cost of equipment incorporating strategic technologies; up to 30% of the cost of equipment incorporating high technologies; and up to 15% of the cost of equipment incorporating technologies aimed at improving productivity and product quality, reducing production costs, saving energy, and minimizing adverse environmental impacts.

- Up to 70% support for research costs, including the development of new technologies; technology decoding; technology incubation; the design and manufacture of equipment incorporating new and advanced technologies; technology improvement; and innovation of production processes to improve productivity and product quality, reduce costs, minimize adverse environmental impacts, and save energy.

Supporting 66 Innovative Startup Projects in 2026

In 2026, under policies supporting the development of innovative startup projects, the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology approved funding support for 13 businesses, universities, and research institutes, with a total budget of VND 5.7 billion, to develop 66 innovative startup projects.

These results, together with the continued implementation of technology innovation support policies for businesses, demonstrate Da Nang’s commitment to mobilizing resources to strengthen technological capabilities, promote innovation, and enhance business competitiveness.
