Da Nang City has provided technology innovation funding support to Mien Trung Industrial Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and EM AND AI Joint Stock Company, with a total funding amount of VND 893 million, as part of the Opening Ceremony of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Festival – SURF 2026.

On the morning of August 19, as part of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Festival – SURF 2026, the forum “Aspiring to Build a Tech Unicorn from Da Nang” provided a platform for dialogue among technology companies, investors, experts, and startup support organizations to discuss opportunities, pathways, and the essential conditions for building high-growth technology companies capable of expanding into regional and global markets.

The Da Nang Innovation Startup Festival - SURF 2026 took place on August 18 - 19, 2026, at the Furama Da Nang International Convention Palace under the theme “The Era of Rising – Pioneering Innovation.” As the city’s largest annual innovation startup event, SURF 2026 also served as a platform for connecting domestic and international resources in science, technology, investment, and innovation.

On the afternoon of August 18, as part of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Festival – SURF 2026, the “SURF Startup: Da Nang Young Builders 2026” workshop was held to inspire and equip young people with the mindset and essential skills needed in a context where artificial intelligence (AI) is driving profound changes across the economy and labor market.

Following the preliminary round, 20 innovative startup projects from the Enterprise and Student categories have officially secured their places in the final round of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Competition - SURF 2026, taking place on August 18. Against the backdrop of growing demand for agricultural safety, reduced chemical residues, and increasingly stringent market standards, Nano Đồng AGOIN – Super Fungus Killer is developing a new approach to preventing and treating fungal diseases in crops through nanotechnology.

Selected among the Top 10 projects of the Da Nang Innovation Startup Festival 2026 (SURF 2026), CirBE – Circular Bioenergy Joint Stock Company is developing a “Made in Vietnam” environmental technology solution for treating mixed municipal solid waste and accumulated landfill waste using proprietary microbial technology developed by its research and development team.

On the afternoon of August 10, 2026, in Hanoi, a delegation from the Da Nang City People’s Committee, led by Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee, held a working session with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) to promote cooperation in scientific research, technology transfer, innovation, and digital transformation, contributing to the city’s socio-economic development in the new period.

Pre-DAVAS 2026 – Strategic Connectivity Dialogue in Preparation for DAVAS 2026
