Da Nang Promotes International Cooperation on Innovation and Digital Transformation with the Daegu Institute for Digital Innovation Promotion (Republic of Korea)

On the morning of October 23, 2025, in Daegu City, Republic of Korea, the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center (DISSC) held a working session with the Daegu Institute for Digital Innovation Promotion (DIP), chaired by Mr. Min Jung Gi, President of DIP.

The meeting aimed to exchange and share experiences in supporting enterprises, promoting digital transformation, and to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation between the two sides.

The Daegu Institute for Digital Innovation Promotion (DIP) is an agency under the Daegu Metropolitan Government, responsible for promoting digital transformation and the development of high-tech industries.

The Institute focuses on research and implementation in key fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and Blockchain, while also operating technology test-bed centers and the Suseong Alpha City Innovation Center to support startups, innovation initiatives, and digital human resource development.

   During the working session, Mr. Min Jung Gi introduced Daegu’s technology application models, such as AI for business management, blockchain for supply chain transparency, and big data analytics for market forecasting. These experiences were considered highly relevant to Da Nang’s digital transformation and information technology development strategy.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Viet Toan, Director of DISSC, presented Da Nang city’s policies and initiatives to support the startup and innovation ecosystem. The city focuses on developing AI, semiconductor chips, information technology, and innovative startups, while also organizing investment networking and innovation market development activities through annual events such as SURF and DAVAS in Da Nang.

Within the framework of the working session, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and proposed specific cooperation mechanisms, including:

Promoting technology transfer in IT, artificial intelligence, and related industries through Da Nang-based enterprises;

Organizing demonstrations and showcases of Daegu’s technological solutions at innovation and technology events held in Da Nang;

Collaborating on digital human resource training and development, strengthening connections with local universities to implement short-term internship programs in South Korea.

The signing of the cooperation agreement between DISSC and DIP marks an important step in strengthening the partnership between Da Nang and Daegu, contributing to the development of Da Nang’s innovation ecosystem.
