Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Quang Buu Meets and Works with the Russian Foundation for Innovation and Social Development
At the meeting, Mr. Guley Sergey Nikolaevich, President of the Russian Foundation for Innovation and Social Development, expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Government of Vietnam, the City of Da Nang, and the Organizing Committee of DAVAS 2026 to the Foundation and the delegation of Russian investors. He also highly valued the role of DAVAS in connecting investment funds, technology enterprises, and the international innovation ecosystem.
DAVAS 2026 is creating significant opportunities for Da Nang in particular and Vietnam as a whole to gradually establish themselves as emerging hubs for innovation capital flows, international finance, and multilateral economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
During the meeting, representatives of the Russian Foundation for Innovation and Social Development expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation with Da Nang in the fields of green technology, waste treatment, renewable energy, and biotechnology. In particular, the delegation introduced an advanced waste-processing technology capable of handling approximately 6,000 tons of waste per day while converting waste into electricity. The technology is designed to generate around 1,000 kW of electricity from each ton of waste processed. The Foundation also proposed cooperation in developing power generation facilities and next-generation turbine manufacturing plants in Da Nang, utilizing green energy solutions and advanced combustion technologies.
According to the Foundation’s representatives, this technology would not only help address urban environmental challenges but also support the development of a circular economy by transforming waste into clean energy for sustainable development.
Beyond energy and environmental cooperation, the parties also discussed potential collaboration in scientific research, biotechnology transfer, medicinal plant development, and the establishment of a Russian research and technology transfer center in Da Nang.
Mr. Guley Sergey Nikolaevich noted that Da Nang possesses strong potential for development in science and technology, tourism, and innovation. He also expressed confidence that the city will continue to attract a growing number of Russian tourists, investors, and business partners in the years ahead.
