Cyberfest 2025: The first hands-on cybersecurity forum in Da Nang—connecting knowledge, developing human resources, and shaping a safe digital space

On the morning of November 22, the opening ceremony of Cyberfest 2025 took place at Duy Tan University. This is the first hands-on cybersecurity event in Da Nang, co-organized by DevPlus, DevSecOps Solutions Vietnam, Touch Cyber, and Duy Tan University.
The event was attended by Mr. Nguyễn Viết Toàn, Director of the Da Nang Center for Innovation and Startup Support.

In his opening speech, Dr. Trần Nhật Tân – Vice Director of Duy Tan University – emphasized that Cyberfest 2025 is a hallmark event for connecting knowledge, inspiring innovation, and developing high-quality human resources for a safe digital space. The event provides a forum for students, experts, and businesses to discuss cybersecurity challenges, highlighted by the 21-hour Hackathon and the Career Networking & Giner activities, which aim to expand employment opportunities in the industry.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyễn Đình Trọng – Founder of DevSecOps Solutions Vietnam – emphasized that Cyberfest 2025 holds significant importance in the context of cybersecurity becoming a national security issue, especially following Vietnam’s hosting of the Hanoi Convention on Combating Cybercrime. The event contributes to positioning Da Nang as a Cyber Security Hub for Central Vietnam, while promoting the role of human talent and AI applications in corporate defense strategies.

Mr. Phan Văn Bình – Deputy General Director of mgm technology partners Vietnam – gave a presentation at the event.

Presenting on the topic “Cybersecurity Workforce – The Critical Element in Digital Transformation,” Mr. Phan Văn Bình – Deputy General Director of mgm technology partners Vietnam – introduced the company’s capabilities in software development, the A12 Low Code platform, and digital transformation consulting. He also shared foundational knowledge on cybersecurity, common attack methods, typical vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation measures. Additionally, he provided career guidance, helping students better understand development opportunities in the technology sector.

Experts exchanging ideas during the discussion session

At the discussion session on “Cybersecurity Workforce – The Critical Element in Digital Transformation,” experts focused on analyzing the role of humans in ensuring information security, the current level of security awareness within enterprises, common limitations, and the essential skills for future personnel. The speakers also addressed the causes of the cybersecurity talent shortage, including high professional requirements, client pressures, and the need for operational professionalism in system management.

Within the framework of the event, the CyberFest 2025 Hackathon took place as a hands-on “battlefield”, where teams of 3–5 members competed continuously for 21 hours, simulating system attack and defense in an offline format. This realistic “cyber battlefield” experience helped participants develop counterattack thinking, response skills, and system protection capabilities. The awards included: 1 First Prize (VND 10 million), 1 Second Prize (VND 5 million), 1 Third Prize (VND 3 million), and 3 Consolation Prizes (VND 1 million per team).

Cyberfest 2025 highlighted Da Nang’s role on Vietnam’s cybersecurity map, serving as a bridge connecting education, industry, and the technical community, while contributing to raising awareness, capabilities, and the cybersecurity workforce in the country. Looking ahead, the event aims to expand in scale, strengthen collaboration between universities and businesses, build an advanced hands-on environment, and pursue the long-term goal of developing high-quality cybersecurity experts, protecting the national digital space, and positioning Da Nang as a leading regional cybersecurity hub.
